Slow Cooker Sherried Cube Steak
Ingredients
- 2 Cube Steaks
- 1/2 c Sliced Onions
- ½ c Sliced Mushrooms
- ¼ c Sherry Cooking Wine
- 1 c Beef Stock
- 1 T Tomato Paste
- 1 /2 T House Seasoning
- 2 Potatoes optional
- 2 Carrots sliced optional
- 1 T Cornstarch optional
- 2 T Water optional
Instructions
- Season the cube steak by sprinkling House Seasoning on both sides of the steak
- In the slow cooker layer the onions, and mushrooms
- Add the beef stock, tomato paste and sherry cooking wine and stir
- Place cube steak on top of onions and mushrooms
- If using for sides, dice the potatoes and place the potatoes and carrots on top of the cube steak
- Cook on High for 3-4 hours of low for 6-8 hours
- If you’d like to thicken the broth combine the cornstarch and water and add this cornstarch slurry to the slow cooker the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Enjoy!
No Peek Cube Steak
Ingredients
- 2 Cubed Steaks
- 1.5 C Cream of Mushroom Soup or 1 can if you are using a can of Cream of Mushroom soup
- 1 C Beef Stock
- ¼ c Diced Onions
- 2 t Worcestershire Sauce
- ½ T House Seasoning
- Parsley for sprinkling at the end of cooking
- Egg Noodles if using. You could also serve this over mashed potatoes cauliflower mash or cooked rice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
- Season the cube steak by sprinkling House Seasoning on both sides of the steak
- Combine all ingredients except for the parsley and whatever you are serving this over
- Place the gravy mixture into a 9 x9 Pan and place the cube steak in the pan pushing it to the bottom of the gravy
- Cover with foil and place into the oven
- Cook for 2 hours
- Serve over egg noodles
- Enjoy!
Country Fried Steak with Sawmill Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 Cube Steaks
- 1 T House Seasoning
- 1 Egg
- 2 c Flour for Breading
- For the Gravy
- 2 T Butter
- 2 T Flour
- ½ t Pepper
- ¼ t Salt
- 1 C Milk
- Oil for pan frying
Instructions
- Set up a breading station by placing the egg in one bowl and flour in other
- Sprinkle some of the house seasoning on the cubed steak
- Add the remaining house seasoning to the flour to stir to combine
- Place cube steak into the flour then the egg then into the flour again
- Once the oil has come up to temperature pan fry the cube steak browning it on both sides
- Remove the browned cube steak from the pan and place on a paper towel lined plate
- Allow the oil to cool slightly before pouring that oil out of the pan leaving any browned bit in the pan
- Add 2 T butter to the pan and place back on the stovetop over medium heat
- Once the butter has melted add the salt and pepper and whisk in the flour
- Once the flour and butter have thickened slightly add the milk and whisk
- Whisk constantly until the gravy has thickened
- If the gravy has thickened too much simply add a little milk until it is the consistency you desire
- Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans
