ChatGPT vs Me! A simple Ragu recipe battle.

HI friend!

I was inspired by Dave over at Smart Tech For Any Age to use ChatGPT for a recipe. I decided to search for a simple ragu recipe to test again my own Ragu recipe. It was very interesting!

Below you will find my version of a Simple Weeknight Ragu and the ChatGPT recipe as well.

Easy Weeknight Ragu Recipe

This easy ragu recipe can be made quickly making it a perfect weeknight meal addition.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pkg Rigatoni
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 Celery Stalks
  • 2 T Olive Oil
  • ¼ c wine
  • 1 c Beef or Vegetable Broth
  • 1 T Tomato Paste
  • 1 28 oz can of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 lb Ground Beef

Instructions
 

  • Cook the Rigatoni until it is al dente, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water.
  • Chop Veggies and cook in the olive oil until translucent.
  • Push Veggies to the side of pan and brown ground beef.
  • Add all other ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add your al dente rigatoni to the pan and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • If the sauce is to think add a little pasta water
  • Enjoy!

ChatGPT Simple Ragu Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 28 oz Can of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 2 T Olive Oil
  • 1 T Tomato Paste
  • 1 t Oregano
  • 1 t Basil
  • ¼ c Milk I forgot to add this in the video oops!
  • 1 lb of Spaghetti or Pappardelle Pasta

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until soft about 5 minutes.
  • Add the Minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute
  • Add the Ground Beef to the pan and cook until it is no longer pink.
  • Add wine and cook for 2-3 minutes
  • Stir in Crushed Tomatoes, oregano,and basil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes
  • While Sauce is simmering, cook the pasta.
  • Once the sauce is thick and flavorful, toss it with the cooked pasta and serve.
  • Enjoy your homemade Ragu!

Will I use ChatGPT again? Maybe for meal planning or grocery lists, but not for recipes. I’ll stick with recipes that have been created and tested by bloggers.
