Coat the stew meat with house seasoning and flour
Place the stew meat, vegetables, diced onion, garlic clove, tomato paste, Worcestershire Sauce, and beef broth in the crockpot
Wrap the potato in foil (if using) and place in to the crockpot.
Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 7-8 hours. You’ll know it is done when the potato is tender (I like to check it with a skewer)
Once the potato is tender remove it from the crockpot
Check the shepherd’s pie if it thick enough to your liking skip adding the cornstarch slurry. If you would like to thicken the mixture add your cornstarch slurry
Unwrap the potato and mash it with the sour cream, salt and pepper , and milk
Top your shepherd’s pie with the mashed potato
